I remembe some talk of a tendency for Qjets to be warped. Anyone have info on this and the solution which I remember being a kit of some sort??

If it is the upper part of the carb(air horn) you are talking about which warps from overtightning the only way to fix I have heard of is to have it milled flat again by a good carb builder. If it is not too severe you could try two air horn gaskets used together. This has worked for years on my carb and I rub both gaskets with 50 weight oil when I assemble carb which keeps fuel from flowing through gaskets. Easy remedy.

Thanks bob that was what I was thinking of. How big of an issue is this? What is the effect of the warp??

    Best Fix Is......

The best fix is the unwarping tool at the above mentioned web site.
I have the tools and it works. I put chapstick on the gasket and the air horn does not leak.......... IT IS FIXED.

Do not overtighten the front long bolts.

Since you have the tool, and it is a costly investment for the occasional user, would you be willing to un-warp carbs for folks for a fee? If so, what's it worth to you? I'd probably send you a couple.
