Mikes blue suncoupe came here last year with a yellow stripe hose that was doing the same thing. I don’t know where it was from, but it was likely sold to him somewhere between 2012 and 2015. The rubber was super brittle. And the car was never stored outside.
I am having the same trouble with plugs that go on carb and I also had a rubber plug on the end of a Prestone set up to flush the cooling, my heater hose is not attached so I used a plug. All of these were cracking after just a few years, they were also Holley plugs. I doin't know where that rubber comes from but it is failing. I would imagine these plugs are made in China. The rubber tires on small carts or hose carts are cracking after just 2 years. Here are the plugs on my intake after about 3-4 years car sits in garage and has not been out much since intake was put on. Nothing much we can do and if you want to have the correct hose on you just get it. I would think this hose Todd is selling is good since I see no one complaining. I would rather support Todd on this since he is getting the parts needed for restoration.
