Water Trap ideas for Air Compressor
OK- newbie to the compressor world here- so here is a newbie question. What do you recommend to prevent water from getting into an air compressor line/hose? I have seen various trap type systems but really dont have a clue which is the best and simplest way to go.
I did a search and found guys using 30 of black pipe with a valve to drain water before it enters a water trap similar to the following:(http://www.tractorsupply.com/campbell-hausfeld-reg-air-desiccant-cleaner-dryer-3315030)
Should all air be run this way?
At school the bus garage has separate lines- one for plasma and painting and a separate line for tools. In the future I plan on painting so I dont want water trapped in a hose.

From what I've been told the one at the tank is good, but always have one at the gun. I use the disposable orange ones. I use a separate line for paint and airing up tires and such. I also have a separate line that runs oil in the line for other tools.

I'm prob still a newb, but talking to some paint guys that's what they recommended.

There are several places to up traps. The main trap should be at the lowest point in the line system. In line traps can't catch it all, especially in high humidity regions.

It is a constant battle,,,, I have a up/down section right out of the tank, then one at the wall, then a sight glass/trap right before the regulator and one right after the regulator..... just before i spray paint , i drain the main tank, then open the drains on the up/down sections, then drain both sight glass drains.... and while I am using the air, about every 2 hours , drain them again.....
