Does anyone know is the restoration catalog companies (and you know who they are) purchase from Steele Rubber or somewhere else? Heard Steele is the best, but with all the sales and discounts from the popular name catalog companies, should I get this stuff form the catalogs or Steele? Any experiences, insight or advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks

I ordered door weatherstripping from them a few years ago for my 70 and it turned out to be Metro weatherstripping repackaged in a Steele package and higher priced. Wound up sending it back.

Thanks Bob, so where did you get yours after you sent it back?

for best results you should let us know what car and what weather strip you need.
It appears alot of guys suggest "soft seal" brand which is sold by "The Parts Place". You could do a search and find an old thread to give you some ideas.

Steele products are pricey and not always the best stuff for our cars.
    good luck Gord

I got all my weatherstripping and rubber bumpers (hood, truck & doors) from Steele and was happy with it all. I was in the Charlotte area and went out to their location and bought across the counter - they had everything in stock.

As far as I know only 2 places make the weather stripping for are cars, Metro and Soft Seal. I called Metro and got a list of there dealers then started calling till I got the best price. They might have a dealer list on the Metro website.
