    Hi everyone,

I trying to figure out shipping charges for a rear bumper for my Buick Skylark (I already did all the measurements). Anyone have an idea on what the 70-72 Buick Skylark rear bumper weighs? Mine is on my car and I'm not taking it off for a while so I was hoping I could get a rough estimate of the weight for shipping - any help would be most appreciated.

    Fed Ex

I carried mine to Fed Ex (1970 bumpers) front and rear, they tried to tell me that the bumpers would need to be in a box but I explained that it would not matter if they got beat up because they were being rechromed...
Rear bumper was less that $15.00 front was slightly less than $20.00.
    Good Luck

    >>Thanks for the idea on sending getting the bumper sent without a box - that would certainly save some money and the bumper is going to be rechromed anyway after I get it. I guess that Fed Ex is better than UPS?

    Rechrome Desert Dog

UPS was adamant about it being in some sort of wrapper and started talking about oversize charges...
The guy at "Desert Dog " had already told me he gets them from UPS,FED EX and DHL everyday not wrapped and that I should be able to ship them not wrapped.
You can go to George Nenadovich's web site buickperformance.com and Desert Dog is in the vendors list. They do bumpers and bumpers only. It does not matter if they are bent, split or rusty but no holes rusted through.
    They do a good job.
    $250.00 each plus shipping($50.00)
Takes about 8 to 12 weeks though.
You can do a search under Desert Dog and get more info and recommendations.
    Good Luck
