I went to check out a Buick the day before V8buick went down. Tuesday. Here are some pictures.

The car was originally from Texas and was impounded because the owner didnt pay some parking fines.
MOTOR/TRANNY- The motor was supposedly rebuilt along with the tranny, but he wasnt sure. The motor had a new edlebrock, with Kenne bell valve cover, but no writing like "Kenne Bell" on it. Same design though. There was also a Holley in the trunk. The hood only had one spring so no picure. Although while I was looking in, there were two very large horns. The seller said the previous owner was most likely a "mack daddy" from what he heard. He said I was welcome to come with a battery and see if she fires, I might.
WHEELS/TIRES- The wheels were whitewalls, but with 5 fullsize factory mags in great shape. No pitting! It even had center caps. 4 of the "Buick Motor Division" caps, and one "R" cap. There was a sixth tire in the back seat.
INTERIOR- The interior was saddle color. It had a 60/40 bench, no console. The radio bezel was missing, along with the radio. I think it had trip set and speed alert. And Im sure that it had the rear defroster. Under the dash were some aftermarket gauges. Had the shoulder belts too. The front bench had a few tears, and the rear window panel had about 4 different speaker holes, so that would need to be replaced. I couldn't get in the car because there was no door handle. Althought I didn't get to go inside the car, It seemed decent. The passenger side window needed to be alinged, or put back on its track, it was open a inch or two.
BODY/PAINT- The body color was Nutmeg and is the original paint. Has a white "halo" vinyl top. The trunklid was toast, see picture. The hood was good, just needed a spring. Front left fender was good, other needed a patch or replacement. Rear quarters were in better shape then mine, but still bad. Lots of pictures of quarters.
OVERALL- The car was complete, and then some. Could be a driver, and a project. You could let it rust away and just drive, or choose to restore it.

Don't want to get all down and out on the car, but here is what I see.
Quarters/fenders look pretty beat if you ask me. Front bumper looks bent. Interior looks not bad, going to be hard to find the back shelf to replace that one. Looks like It's been sitting awhile. That's bad.

Ansel Adams you aren't! Some of theose pictures are a little ummm , Artistic! Love to see some Pics during the day.

    Rob,

You're living in N-America: cars, fuel, parts and taxes are cheap.
Go find yourself a nice Boattail with a solid body, don't go wasting good money on a sad looking car like this. I saw a lot of great deals on Boattails when I was in Texas in November last year: cheap cars, rust free bodies and only sun damage to the interior and paintwork. Who needs a rot box when there are so many good cars in the country.

Trevor, its pretty bad. My kodak digital camera works some of the time. :Dou:

Erik, I wasn't going to consider buying it after seeing it. Because the reality is I can find a rust free boattail for the cost or less then the cost of any bodywork. Im looking at one in California right now. There are hardly any in my area, so I thought it was worth checking out. It was only here since 2001 but thats the rustbelt for ya. :(
