Cool stuff, Dana! What you lookin' at Opels for Dana? (Think "What you talkin' bout Willis") I have a perverted plan for a late 1960s Opel Kadette wagon if I ever see a reasonably solid one close to home, that is.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4511128428&ssPageName=ADME:B:BN:MT:1 I thought so too till I went there and looked at it. The sheetmetal is real soft on the bottom 4 or 5 inches all the way around and the floors are real soft as well. Its all there though. D.
Ya know Chris I'm not really sure, I saw it was close and I've allways liked those little things. If it was just a little nicer I would be tearing it down in the garage right now but its just a bit more project than it looked from ebay shots. I think an Opel wagon would be a fine addition to your collection. D.
Its kinda funny, the e-bay ad says "solid body".Anyways there is an Opel about three miles down the road from me,tagged and registered.Don't know if its for sale or the exact condition,if you or anyone else is interested,I could check it out for you/them.
My top bid was $425, below the reserve I believe. I think the seller would prolly take the $425 at this point though. D.
Wow, look at those rivs :Brow: Did you get any info on the rivs? They look ok, a little rust but from the pics they appear to be in pretty good cond.(?) :bglasses: Thanks
seeing that little GT brings back memories. when i was a kid we had about 5 OPEL's in the family at one time, 2-1965 2 dr Kadett's, 1-1967-1/2 Station wagon, 1- 1969 2dr Kadett S/R & 1 1971 Kadett wagon. those where great little cars. couldn't kill them for anything. Hmmm, I may have to look around for one of those.
That is exactly the wagon I want! Thanks for the pic! I wonder if a gen II 3800 V-6 will fit in there? How about an Opel Sportwagon GS? Cortez Gold with a black racing stripe for sure! My wife is not overly enthralled with my wagon fascination but at least she would like it because it is small. She is not a fan of huge cars. There has to be one with no rust somewhere doesn't there?
Did someone say StageII hood scoop? Chris, it was at NorthShore Towing's Glenview yard. They are on Oakton in Evanston but I dont have the phone number right here handy. D.
