Went with a Cadillac big block

Hey Ronnie, I found a block that will work with the crank I posted if you want to go forward with a Big Daddy Caddy;

You can use the rest of the 472 parts you have and make something out of the pile now, like a 547? GL

I seen that post stagedCat yesterday. I'll most likely just go to pick n pull. They have 2 donor cars with in our area. Pray for me

I rebuilt a ‘74 472 last fall to use in my rat rod project. Nothing special done to it aside from a Comp 270 cam. Cut out the ring ridge, honed the cylinders, cleaned everything up. I also have a Super Turbine (Switch Pitch) 400 to go behind it, but it needs rebuilt - and I need a SP slip yoke. Rear end I’m using has 3.54 gears... it’s gonna burn the tires off everywhere I go

 

I went with a 430 Buick and the Cadillac 472 is sitting on the floor of my backyard. I might use it as a core exhange to flip a LS engine out of the junk yard or oneday send the engine to a shop to get looked at to see how I can repair the cylinder wall but I think it's better to just start off with a good block

 

The guy was a class A flake/thief and I had no time to chase him down. Better things came my way when I forgave him in my heart like the BBB430 for 100$

 

Can you post a pic of the bad cylinder?

Maybe it can be fixed with a sleeve?
