No visable damage. Rims can get bent without physically showing damage. Only spinning them when balancing will show any wobble or runout. Even brand new wheels from Specialty, Stockton or Wheel Vintiques may have some. Steve Caruso wheels were the best.
I'm sure it's sold. I contacted him last Saturday (right after it posted here) as I was going to be in his area Sunday & he said someone was already supposed to be coming to buy it & that he's let me know if it fell through. Every wheel has runout (lateral & radial). Every one. As you know being a machinist, they have to be fixtured properly on the balancer first which most shops don't do. Then you need real runout numbers, preferably expressed in 1st harmonic form. If I had had $5 for every time a shop told me "it's a bent rim" and they were wrong, I'd still be in the wheel business.
