    wires?

Is it possible that it is a braided stainless cover with the wires going to the front lights and across the rear of the engine to the alt?

No Clue what that is, but the car is way too shiny and the engine is the wrong color, for sure!

Maybe a vapor/fuel line from the charcoal canister, if GM put those in cars of the early sixties.

Looks like one end goes to the power booster. Seems to snake up behind the washer fluid bottle, go inside the fender over the wheelhouse and then back around to a vacuum port on the back of the intake manifold. Why wouldnt you just run a short piece of black rubber hose? People do some strange things to cars.

Cool can maybe? At least that's about where I mounted mine on my '72. Although I don't know why you'd need a cool can on a '63 Electra............

a good way to hide a big fat power cable for an amp...

I used a 2 guage Phoenix Gold wire for mine in the LeSabre, it was about a 1/2" thick.

I just blew up the picture and looked at it real close. If what the dealer says is true, I suspect that the previous owner had this real long piece of braided steel hose, had no way to cut the stuff to length, so he just routed it where ever he could to make it fit. The more I look at it, the more I'm sure that's what's going on here.
