What are you all using for tuning your power adder cars?

Wide bands are where it is at for establishing safe operating ranges. You just have to decide if you want to data log or not. For serious tuning, data logging is probably very smart. I did not want to data log, so I got the NGK AFX. It is a very easy to install and use unit and they are praised for being highly accurate.

My EFI has a wideband and datalogging... A laptop will be mounted under the seat to record things like AFRs, EGTs, TPS, Boost, RPMS, Intake air temps, etc. Way to hard to look at the gauges when racing...:beers2:

That ought to keep you busy for the winter.

Winter time is the time to upgrade the car as well as poor over data...

Yeah, the sled with nitrous keeps me busy in the winter! Going 110 MPH on a sled in -35 is interesting but it is a good way to wake up!!!:beers2:

All of this has me wondering why on earth you wouldn't go ahead and put EFI on the thing. EFI, an intercooler, and you'd be miles ahead. Pretty good data logging built in to most engine management systems.

I am running an TB EFI system, with datalogging... I also have a MPFI system with even more datalogging capability that I might use (Megasquirt 3). Either way the laptop will be mounted under the seat collecting info at all times. Even if I want to run a carb, I can use the MS 3 to run my timing, and log everything.

I am running chemical intercooling so I can keep my boost pipes short and direct... Since I am running low boost (7-8 PSI) on the street I am using a boost referenced water/methanol spray that will come in at 4 PSI... When I hit the track the water/meth with stay on as boost rises to about 14-18 PSI. Chemical intercooling can be very effective when done right especially for a car that is drag raced not driven at speed for a long time which would be good for an air/air intercooler.

sounds like you got it all planned out!! i run a blow thru csu carb and just run two wideband o2 with a fast datalogger.. easy to tune because of the carb and the a/f ratio i can moniter with the fast setup. the nice thing about this is that i welded up a set of o2 bungs in my pickup with a 406ci sbc and i just swap over the setup and use it on the truck also and only takes 3 minutes. plug it in to the cig lighter and start datalogging and tunning. best $500 i have spent. i did take some pictures where the o2 are in my headers and they say 12 -18 inches from the collector on the FAST directions.
