If you have a 1969 Camaro big block, what brand of exhaust are you using? If you have used more than one in looking for the best, could you tell any difference? I had thought I would use the one that was on the car when I got it, but after body shop prison and all, the mufflers are shot!! Pete, Rob you guys should be on top of this, I hope.

I like Ultra flow. Like using the single crossflow, the way the car came. Pypes now makes a nice system, although Rob tells me the tail pipes are not perfected yet. You'll need some of this:dollar:

Hopefully, I'll be able to let you know after this weekend how well the Pypes system performs...

Magnaflow makes a header back system totally stainless in the 2.5 or 3 inch.
The 3 inch (not legal for pure stock) has 2, 14 inch mufflers and dumps on the tailpipes behind the rear tires. Looks and sounds awesome.
My shop put one on a 69 camaro w/396 and shorty headers. My favorite sound so far.
Last week we out one on a 69 firebird w/428 and manifolds. Not quite as awsome as the chevy w/headers but still looks and sound great.

They also make the 2.5 system with either the crossflow muffler or the regular 2 muffler set up.
All three just have to have the head pipes made to hook up to whatever manifold or header system you use.
They are not cheap but look great.
You can view them on the magnaflow web site.

See you guys tomorrow nite at the little lamb party in the parking lot.:TU:

Thanks, I'll wait and see how the Pypes system does. But I'm tired of having to re-make some of these reproduction parts to get them to fit.

For correctness, Gardner gets the vote hands down...but they don't do mandrel 2.5" systems. Kat and I finished up the exhaust on the Yellow Sub this evening, so be sure and stop and check it out...

Anyway, *my opinion* is a BBC Camaro/Nova needs a crossflow muffler...not only does it fit better than a pair of dual mufflers, it just looks right...

Rob ,Is correct; Gardner make a great exhaust system that looks nos.I actually had a 2and half system built for my 68 /396 nova.with an xpipe and magnaflow crossover single muffler system.I actually had the original exhaust still on the car when I got it(still have it stored) So I was able to match the exit of the exhaust at the quarters to look original.rob ,keep me posted on the results of the Pypes system.looking to do a exhaust on the other 68 nova ss 396/375 car soon.chris teed

Rob, how did you like the Pypes exhaust? Does the 117 mph mean it is as good as your old system, and what was your old system? How does the Pypes exhaust sound? Iwouldn't want a system that was to loud. THANKS
