I will be purchasing a 750cfm Q-Jet from a member (thanks Steve!) and I want to get a head start on any possible parts I might need to tune it for my setup.

The carb is off a '73 Electra w/ a 350. I dont have the stamping yet, but Steve is positive it was original and is a 750cfm. He rebuilt it, so thats all good...he's just not sure what rods/jets are in it.

My setup is a '72 350, TA310 Cam: 232 @ .050 int & exh, '70 high compression pistons, head work. Poston headers. Stock intake.

So, what will i need to tune this baby up? any suggestions is appreciated. i've heard these carb/intake combo's like spacers...is this true? open spacer the best?

    TIA

All 73 Electras came with 455's if I am not mistaken and all 455 carbs 1n 73 were 800 cfm! Is the 4th digit in the part # a 3? Which would mean it came from a 73. Should start with #7043...

i've requested the stamping number from the seller, he'll get it to me soon. it's not a problem if it's a 455 or 350 800cfm, is it? the way i see it, if it's an 800cfm, even better, right?

You've got a pretty healthy cam there, so it should do fine with a 455 carb.
The issue with 455 carbs on 350s isn't the cfm, but the differences in internal idle passages.

he got back to me and said it was a carb of a '73 LeSabre and it IS a 350 carb, 750cfm. still havent gotten the stamping numbers.

still would like to know what rods/jets you guys would suggest. Much appreciated.

Keep the stock primary rods and try one or two jets richer. Experiment with secondary rods as they are easy to change.

Yes Le Sabres came with 350's or 455's but Electras only 455's.
