Could anyone by any chance tell me what cylinder is the first one to fire on my 300? And dont be smart and say the first one haha. I mean the first cylinder on what side of the block the right side (looking at the motor) or the left side? I'm doing the timing on it and I cant remember. I think its the right side (when your looking at the motor from the front of the car) but I dont want to install her after the build and find out i'm wrong. That would REALLY piss me off haha.

I thought the #1 cylinder was on the left when looking at the motor. Does the intake specify what #'s the cylinders are? I am not familiar with these engines...just my blind intuition.

    :Do No:

i believe buick cylinders were numbered starting on the driver side and going across, ie:

    back of engine
    8----7
    6----5
    4----3
    2----1
    front of engine

and the #1 cyl fires first on every v8 i can think of.

Get some rest , David is correct. The 215-300-340-350-400-430-455 are all numbered as he stated. The nailheads like the 364-401-425 have #1 on the passenger side front.
