Somebody help me...I can't stop. Here are some pics of the 64 I bought...I couldn't help myself. I felt bad for it just sitting outside with a ripped top.

    BUICKRAT Got any treats?

Lots of rust...needs complete interior also. I'll prolly be able to save most of the exterior sheet metal, but it needs floors, trunk and frame work. I think I'm gonna go see a doctor for my disease...a Buick doctor. I only paid 800 for it, so I guess I didn't do TOO bad cough cough

Well, It does run, trans shifts, the top works(whats left of it) and all the trim is there. Engine's been replaced with a 66-67 340, so I may go looking for a nailhead to stick in it after the body is done. If anyone has any parts I need, feel free to let me know. Gonna be looking for bumpers, grill and interior...column...etc etc etc. Wish me luck!

From what I can see in the pix and what you paid for it , looks well worth putting some money into . I have seen some supposedly restored cars that need almost that much work .

Right on...that's a great looking project and for similar money, I've gotten myself into more basket case situations.

Keep in mind that we can make any car decent...we just need to apply time and money (usually lots of the latter).

    Good luck with it.

Thanks for the support, guys. I have to admit, the pics make it look better than it really is. I must say, I smile every time I look at it, It really is a cool looking car, right guys???,....right, guys??? Anyway, I haven't seen any chevy/pontiac/olds/ford/dodge that has lines like a Buick, no matter what vintage:beers2: It actually has a couple options, too. Tilt power steering and a TRUNK LIGHT! WHOOPIEEEE! (I know, I need help) (buick doctor, where are you)

Ain't nuthin like a Buick... and as far as goin to see the Doc..forget it. You are now hooked on a very, very, good habit. Getting them back to where they should be is one helluva drug isn't it!!!! Every little thing that's corrected, fixed, etc..is a great rush. :TU: I don't even have my Wildcat done and I'm already looking at a 4Dr Electra... Yeah we're all Buick Junkies that's for sure.

Yeah, I love fixing old stuff. It's funny too, the car is slowly coming alive after sitting since '94. power steering only needed fluid to work, lubed the top frame and it works now, worked the headlight switch 20-30 times and the lights are now working, some pb and the doors latch and open properly, lubed the front end and the squeak is gone, filled the brake fluid and pumped the pedal 10 times and presto brakes(sort of) It's just too bad it's all gotta come apart again to do the resto!

I'll never forget when my dad brought home our '63 Tempest business coupe:

Him: It's perfect! All the glass is there and unbroken, no interior to strip out, engine and trans already out, etc...

Mom: What is this thing sitting in my parking spot in the garage? It has no seat, four flat tires, etc...

She was pissed and he was oblivous, walking around whistling to himself...

    :beers2:
