    I have a stock 64 riv that has a trans leak that I cant find..... and,,,,
    A 65 Gs skylark that has a 66 sw pitch th400 in it that has a leak that I cant find....cant keep oil in either one....
    I have changed the front t/c seal on both cars and installed new cast alluminum oil pans on both transmissions.... the riv barely leaks now, but still leaks... and the 65 will leak all the fluid out untill it finally quits... then I have to put more in if I want to move the car at all....this is driving me CRAZY....
    Years ago I had the same set up in my 64 skylark and it did not leak a drop.... ever.....
    Any ideas ???????? ???? ????:pray::pray:

    What I do when I have a leak I can't find is clean up everything I can find then I put a fresh piece of cardboard under the car so that I can easily find the drips. From there you just have to trace it back to the point where it leaks, which should be easy if it does while sitting still.

    Mine leaked from the speedo cable. I replaced the outside seal only to discover it was really the speedo gear that was worn out and the inner seal wouldn't hold. Replaced the gear and the seal and most of it went away. I switched to a turbo 200-4R before I finally got it to quit leaking. I do attribute some of my cars lack of rust due to the constant oil bath it had for 10 years. ;)

    Check the modulator o-ring, shifter shaft seal, cooling lines, the dip stick tube o-ring, the kick down plug, the tail shaft gasket and the drive shaft seal. It has to be something that has a low point to leak all the fluid out.

    Good advice above. A shifter shaft can rust on the outer tip, defeating the seal. I'm
    trying to find a good fix for that now. One thing that makes it worse, is when the
    converter drains into the pan between uses. But that will not be a problem if
    everything else is good. Bruce Roe
