Engineer by degree and later MBA. 20 years in manufacturing operations. Started at an aluminum smelter, then class 1000 cleanroom for high tech ceramics, vinyl windows/doors company, and then GE Healthcare running a plant that remanufactures medical equipment. 9 years ago took a career right turn turn to focus on leadership development. Now I get to help good leaders in one of the country's largest integrated healthcare systems become GREAT leaders. I'm not sure "part time car figure-outer or wrench thrower" counts does it?
Wow, I feel like a junior member here, turning 42 this summer - got some 25 yrs to retirement :-/ Got a master's degree in mechanical engineering, did couple of years design engineer tasks ie. design, FEM & airflow calculations and drawings of grain drying equipment. Hopped over to capital project business and worked as engineering manager for plant projects for close to 12 years, in bio-energy and mining industries. Just 6 months ago started as director of service engineering in mining technology company, Outotec. Now, I just hope I had more time to spend with my 3,5 yr old daughter and my '70 GS... -JJ-
