What If st300sp and non sp turbo 400 converters are mixed up?

    Purchased a 76 Pontiac Grand Prix Turbo 400, and found the converter is a 13 inch SP converter. Would this combination work or was it just put together to sell?

    Was the trans perhaps converted to a vp setup? If not, the parts are not compatible.

    The trans. has a standard style pump, one one wire connection. Thanks for the info!
