Hey guys, this is on the passenger side of the carb. Notice the linkage goes into the engine itself. What is that?

Please don't beat my up on the appearance of the carb (rustwise). I just got the car and am finding the carb really need some work. I'm going to send it to Marc at Quadrajet Power.

That's your choke. The manifold has a well in it. Under the plate is a bi-metallic spring that uncoils when it gets hot and releases the choke. Its referred to as a "divorced choke" (I love the name)

Great! Thank you guys. I'm waiting on Marc to hear how he want's it shipped and then it's off. And while the car is sitting there I'm also sending my distributor off to Dave at Smallbody HEI. Two birds with one stone. Then if it still doesn't run like a dream you'll hear venting the likes of never heard before on this forum. Hahaha.

luv the brakes, I think that is a step up from the flintstones, It must be for kids. but arent most go carts. ? Very clean. Buick red too. I was building a go cart, was going to put a 2 stroke dirt bike motor in it. Then a friend ended up getting one, so I gave it a run, I soon gave away all go cart stuff I had. It scores high in the adrenalin, but just too easy to really mess yourself up.
