What size offset pins??

Discussion in 'U-shift em' started by sriley531, Apr 15, 2014.

I'm going to be dialing in the concentricity of a scatter shield to the flywheel and was looking at eccentric pins. They come in multiple offsets. Is there a consensus on what size most use or is it a crap shoot and I just need to order them all?

Thanks for the reply Devon. I was just curious if there was a "90% of the time this size works" type scenario and if so I was going to gamble and order them so I had them on hand. No biggie though. The process Im really familiar with, Ive never done a bell housing but I have fairly extensive precision jig grinding experience (.0004" total runout) so getting this thing within a TIR of .005" shouldn't be too bad.

Wish I had more experience to give you an idea of what to expect, but I've only done a handful over the years. If I remember tight, the cast bellhousings I did were all close if not within spec, the stamped scattershields not so close.

FYI, people seem to be liking these over the more typical offset pins: http://www.robbmcperformance.com/products/dowels.html
