Hmmm....interesting...if you are serious ill talk it over with my dad. Cuz it would cost way more than $200 to have a shop install it all. :TU:
However, if someone in FL wanted to come over and help that would be easier. But the closest is like an hour drive. :Do No:

What pipe size exhaust is on the car now? Also, does it have kinked bends?

What's symptoms does the A/C have?

The exhaust is 2" or 2.125". I would say it doesnt have kinks.

The A/C blows, just not cold. We had it tested a while back and put freon in it, still nothin. They said the evaporator needed replace i think..

    Update as of yesterday:
My dad and i took freakin 2 hours to get that intake off. Being as neither of us had done it and every bolt had basically never been touched, so without my dad there i wouldnt have been strong enough to break those bolts loose. After spewing coolant everywhere at first, we figured it out and got the ole intake off. Didnt drain the block of coolant, couldnt find those plugs, but drained the lower hose. Glad my dad was there to help lift that cursed intake off, with him it wasn't hard at all. Once all the bolts were off i told him to grab the neck and see if he could yank it loose and sure enough he popped it up. I felt accomplished enough seeing the intake off, being as ive never opened one up that far. I took lots of pictures which are to come tomorrow. Also have some questions to ask involving some of the pictures.

The main reason i finally got to this is cuz the intake seal was leaking tons of oil, so valley pan needed replace/resealed. Since my 2v intake is all nasty and i have a clean/painted 4v intake and carb, why not put that back on when i do it? I need this car back together by monday cuz ive been drivin my dads truck and he wants it back by then. Then again I also have the timing chain, a TA212 cam, timing cover gasket, and matching lifters lying around. I have friday, saturday, and sunday off of work, just have school tomorrow. So what should i do?

Sweet!! You don't have to drain the block coolant, just the radiator. I say you could get it done by Monday, but expect to spend most every waking hour working on it starting friday afternoon. :beers2:

What is the next step? Should i consult the all might Chassis Service Manual? I have the intake off. I would have to take the fan/belts timing cover all off correct?

yes, and the fuel pump, power steering brackets. Be gentle when removing the timing cover. Try to save as much gasket on the oil pan towards the front of the block as you can, so you can make a nice clean cut to install the new front pan gasket.

    Front pan gasket? haha

haha yeah. If you look in your new gasket set you will see a cork gasket that fits the front of the oil pan. I think there should be 4 bolts that connect the bottom of the timming cover to the oil pan. They go through the oil pan and into the timming cover.

    2 bolts.

Check your cam bearings!!! if you are doing an in frame installing cam bearings is tricky. I should be finished my full rebuild tonight!! if you have any Q's feel free to ask away!.... you might need a 4bbl throttle cable, some dont though.

I did .030 over, comp 268 cam, ta intake, and headers. I also did a mild porting on the stock heads. maybe some company in arizona will get some recycled beer can heads done up soon:Do No:

I wouldnt put too much $$ into your engine yet, you know you will be pulling it to put bigger slugs in, and after 36/37 years the lower end could be getting tired.

like I said, if you need any info like torque specs and or anything else, just ask!!

Ok, so i finally decided to stop talking about it and do it. I have been disassembling the engine since sunday and am almost done with that part. What sucks is i work the next 3 days, hope i get sunday off to work on cleanin things up the best i can, then start puttin this beast back together with the new cam, lifters, and 4bbl intake. :TU:

Here is what my garage looks like now:

Here is what my engine bay looks like now, except i took the rockers off since then

Here is my main concern at the moment...why in the hell are there those hole things on either side of the timing chain on towards the oil pan?!?!

This brings back memories for sure. :Brow: Unfortunately, I see at least a good hour in gasket surface cleanup on that baby. Putting that thing back together will be fun. Be sure and do an oil change before break-in.

Haha i knew i would have to explain that. Thats not even my name on them. They were some folders of a student my mom (teacher) used to have last year and they were sittin in the garage. so i used them to catch stuff that could fall into the valley as i scraped the ports clean

    One observation- work neater!

I put a moving blanket in the trunk and lay out all the pieces that come off the car on it. That way theyre all in one place in the trunk and your not stepping and tripping over them.

    72lark350 GOING FAST WITH CLASS

Yea i guess...i mean obviously the trunk wouldnt work for me, but i get ur point. I am bagging everything however, making notes, i have everything where i know where it is, im soakin all the bolts individually in solution. Being as this is the first time ive ever even taken an intake off, im still new to the whole process. thanks though :TU:
