I have a 64 Riv. with the th400 trans that has the kick down sw. that uses the little roller on the carb throttle arm.
I changed carbs to a shoe box holley and now i need to make the kick down sw. work again.
    Any suggestions??????????

    Doc,

Depends on how you want the kick down to work. Some street rooder types go with a push button switch so they command when the kick down occurs. You could even rig one of those up on your console or incorporate it into the park lock button on the stock shifter. You could also mount a micro switch on the gas pedal linkage inside the car, or out on the throttle linkage like Buick did for the SP 400's. I have little or no respect for Holleys, so one of my optons would be to repair/overhaul the OEM Carter/Rochester and sell the Holley! LOL!:Brow:
    Good Luck,

Well , Tim, I went to school on the Holleys and know more about them than the other carbs. The original carter that I took off is a real piece of junk. Epoxy every where. The front bbls not opening all the way ect. I did save It just in case I ever sell the car and the new owner wants it. It runs much better with the holley.
I just have to make/modify the throttle arm to trip the stock kick down sw.
I figured some one out there had already done it and could shed some light on the situation. I thought of a mercury sw. that would come on at a certain angle. Most likely what I would go with. I will have to get into my new shop manual and determine just exactly how the system works before doing anything.
