well guy's since my engine blew(rod bearings went 108k on bottom 4k on top)
my twinturbo 350 build has been bumped up

i already ordered a coan 2800 stall and transgo shift kit for my th350 but i'm thinking no matter how much its built up, i dont think it'll be reliable enough

so i'm just wondering what transmission would be ideal for forcded indution, with around 650-750 hp

i have a 200r4 and another th350 laying around also

    or should i go with a st-400?
    or perhaps a 4l80?

Stock a late 60s to early 70s TH 400 is hard to beat. Look at the size of the input shaft relative to a 2ooR or most any modern auto trans and you will see why. A TH 350 was never designed for the big torque engines like 430s and 455s.

with a reg th400, i can still use my th350 2800 stall coan converter right?

Yes the th350 and the th400 use the same converter. Just for information I was going to go with a th400 and even bought a core when I met Jim Turner and his beautiful stage2 race car at BG. Well imagine my surprise when I saw a th350 in it. He says they can be beefed up and are lighter and use less Hp than the th400. I have been running mine since 1990 behind a nild 455 and even raced it hard with a 3000 stall with no problems. I would check into that before spending a ton on a th400 or an OD unit unless thats what you want

i just want reliability...i dont want to drop 2k or w/e on a th350 only for it to blow up in a year cause of the massive torque for twin turbos

I'm looking at the same thing ( Vortech blower ) and I've pretty well settled on a buffed up TH400. I looked at everyth. else and just could not justify the cost / reliability factor. I'm gettin too old. I wanna do this right once and enjoy it, not fix it. These are not F.ixO.rR.epairD.aily's. They be BUICKS:TU:

go with a th400 or even a switch pitch(helps build boost at the tree)

yea, i'm definatly going th400...just need to find a bop pattern for 100 or less...switch pitch is up in the air, as i might use my 2800 coan that i bought for the th350...also thinking about a gear vendors or their competition...theyre cheaper...just cant think of their name right now..
think its something like US gear
