I cant tighten the distributor hold down clamp on my 73 350 lesabre? What size/kind of wrench do i use for this? Ive tried all my open and closed ended stright wrenches ant the disributor clamp wrench I bought at auto zone didnt work. Is there a special tool for this or special trick?

    Thanks

    I use a crows foot and an 8" extension. The 455's are 9/16. Are the 350's 1/2"?

you can get a dist wrench. i believe it is 1/2 on one end and 9/16 on the other. it is about 8 inches long and has a slight bend.

Sears sells a nice Craftsman one. it is L shaped. Works like a charm.

I have heated and bent a non-name one for this purpose.

What exactly is the problem? Are you able to get the head of a wrench on the bolt? Maybe the bolt is stripped or the threads. You should be able to get a regular wrench on it. Although a distributor wrench makes it easier.
