i have a coan 10 inch 3500 stall that has a leak in it. roughly will cost 300 to350 to repair. for that price i would rather buy a new one, but about 3000 stall. anyway, i got a deal working with a buddy who wants it, he thinks he can fix it at his shop. there are a lot of options out there, i know but i need one that will work well with or withour NOS. ive heard bad things about B&M, but coan and tci are the only ones that i know about. is that it? dont want to buy junk. thanks big john:TU:
hey big john sorry to hear about ur converter. is that a new one? coan are usually good converters. anyway depending on what u want, Hughes makes a good converter. one of the higher end companies i believe is continental. anyway good luck whichever u choose.:beer ralph
If they repair the leak, adjust the stall to what you want, and freshen the convertor up you will have a new convertor. If it was me I would let Coan do these things and you will have a "New" convertor for only $300-350. Its hard to beat a Coan convertor but of course the final decision rests with you. Good luck
My Trans builder got mine for me. It is called Pro Torque. Their web site is called www.protorque.com I use a 3000 stall for Nitrous and without Nitrous. I had it custom built for the nitrous. I also have a lockup feature on this also. Cost is up there 800 big ones.
Depending on what you want to do, you might want to look into a switch pitch converter if its mostly street use.
I got a b+m holeshot 2500 rpm, works great with 3.08 rear, and I bought it used to boot, no need to get crazy with fancy converters, just my 2 cents
Nothing beats a well built converter, and for that, you will pay. Contact Jim Weise, he can set you up.
