Hey, Im new, so this may have been posted before,
Just wondering what all you 350 guys are running E/T wise?
What kinda mods, specs, etc. overall cost too.

Eh, ive just got a stock 72 2bbl 350 lol only mod is an Accel super coil. w/ high performance points:gt:
Never ran it with the clock(track doesnt use it on Sat.) Hits 85-90 around the trap.....Probably high 15s...but im probably better off not knowing the actaul time lol.

    72skylark 4 Doors of Fury!

high 15's would be stretching it I think... prolly closer to low 16's...

I ran 15.75 with a 4 brl, dual exhuast, upgraded ignition... but I'm not sure if I had the burnt valve at the time I made the run, or if it burnt after that.....

    I managed to run a: 15.1 @ 93 with the following setup:

    Buick 350
    10:1
    750 CFM Edelbrock carb
    Stock intake
    Stock torque converter
    2.76 gears

Thats about it. I had the same setup dyno'ed and ended up with 303ft/lbs & 211.3 hp. I'm looking forward to my new setup of a TCI Breakaway converter + 3.42 gears.

  4. GS69350

    GS69350 Buick NUT

    Engine:
    1970 low compression (9:1 advertised)
    Stock EVERYTHING Except:
Poston GS114 cam and high performance valvesprings (required with this cam, trust me)
'69 430 carb w/ 70 jets, 45b rods CT secondarys, built by me with no tricks.
Stinger S-4 Ignition, timing re-curved for 38' total advance @ 2500 rpm (stinger retards timing so ~ 34-36' at 5000 rpm).

    TH350 w/ shift kit
    3.23 NON Posi Rear.

Car is a 69 GS 350, Factory Non a/c, manual steering, manual drum brakes, bucket seats, tilt column, floor shift, rear swaybar, + more incidental stuff.

I figure it is in the 3800-4000 lb range, it is a lighter example of a 69 GS. It may be lighter than 3800lbs, I don't know.

NOTE: UP until today, all runs were done with STOCK valve springs and 245/60/14 rear tires.

    Best time: 14.990 @ 92 mph
(Removed one swaybar link, deflated rear tires to 22psi, removed EVERYTHING from the car including stereo speakers and the trunk was EMPTY EMPTY, also removed entire back seat.)

Normal times without removing the back seat and doing the swaybar thing was 15.2 almost consistent.

That was 2000 I believe, the last year they had Street legal drags at Pomona raceway.

No racing from December 2000 until TODAY.

Today whats changed: Rear tires were 235/75/15, 3" taller than before and 3" skinnier! Also had the correct valve springs which really opened up the top end, the car is without a doubt faster.

Went to a different track. I don't know what to say other than its not a great track.

    Ran 16.3 @ 85mph to 16.5 @ 85 mph.

I didn't do anything to the car as far as tricks go or lightening, just took several things out of it that were obviously heavy.

I believe the tires really killed it, they are much taller which is like putting in a numerically smaller gear ratio (like going from 3.23 to 2.76). I also had MORE traction problems as the tires were breaking loose not only at the start but at the 1-2 shift as well!

I may go back to the track in a few weeks with different tires and less weight to see if I can get it back to the low 15's.

Ironically, my friend's 69 GS 400 which I feel is faster than my car by a margin did WORSE, 16.6 to my 16.3 on a side by side run. That was the first run for his car ever so there is nothing to compare it to.

    Hope this helps!

    Dan
