Happy Easter everybody. Been quiet around here. What's everybody working on? Any new Pure Stockers coming out this year? Who's wrenching? [IMG] This will be my new Pure Stocker. It is a 71 Charger R/T, originally a 440 auto. I've known this car since 1993. Back then we used to cruise Lansdale, a town close to here that was still hanging on to cruising.(unintentionally of course) Back then I had a 72 Charger Rallye and Dan had his 66 Coronet 440. We met these guys up there Kenny and Brian. It was like we lived in parallel worlds just 20 miles away. Brian had a 66 Coronet 440 and Kenny had this Citron Yella R/T. Of course we all became friends. I always really liked Kenny's R/T. He always swore he would never sell it and he was a pretty hardcore car guy. These dudes rented the basement of a Chrysler dealer where all their skunk works would happen. About 2 years ago Kenny said he was thinking about selling his car and I didn't take him serious. Then I saw it on Craigslist. We made a deal right away. I'm real happy to have it, I still can't believe he sold it to me. Plans are to swap a Hemi in. The first time I saw the car it had Hemi emblems on the hood, it never left me. It was just a spoof of course but they looked so right. So that's what I'm thinking about how about you?

John, The thread on moparts is intresting ,the guy leading the charge was a hardcore street racer from Brooklyn. How many would think to try to make their own Aluminum hood. Lee is artist by trade and has one hell of a life story. He is a bit of a inspiration.

Tim, I can't wait to see it too

Scotty, She may look like a fat lady but she really is a vicous killer. You should have seen her on 61st street back in the early 90s. When she gets going she does't like to stop

Nobody else is thinking about racing yet?

I think I'm going to put together a 3.92 geared 8 1/4 rear for my 360 Duster. Hoping to close the gap with your 340 Duster.

    Charger looks mean Tom!

I hope no one took my suggestion seriously that doing the things in the Moparts thread should be tried on a pure stock car. It's just that I see so many cars that weigh in at 2-300 pounds or more over what their factory shipping weights are. That's easily costing them 2-3 tenths or more. When I bought my 70 Nova, I removed the throw rugs out of the interior, took the full hub caps off of the wheels, took the spare tire and jack out and went to a certified truck scales. The car weighed 50 pounds under the listed factory shipping weight. I hadn't even taken the radio out yet. Come on peeps, if you're serious about taking a car to the ps drags and want to go fast, at least do a little prep work. You can go faster with very little work and without spending any money.

Ohhh my new car is ALOT lighter. Down on a few cubes, but the weight should make up for it.
Now I just have to take off MY OWN winter weight again... But I am about to loose 3,820lbs in a few weeks. Can't keep em all.:ball:

From what I can tell NHRA shipping weight is 3241 for the coupe a fastback is 3267 less diffrence than I thought .My 69 coupe is around that 3300 give or take.

ok, i guess i have to share this... i just purchased my first mopar...1967 coronet 440 wagon, it was just too cool to pass on. untouched original california car, not sure what im going to do with it, maybe nothing, it is a daily driver with original worn paint. but now my 65 wildcat is going to suffer, it needs to be brought back to life. same thing, original worn paint with lots of factory options...425 , posi , buckets and console, chrome wheels , ac, dual exh and speed alert. one of them has to go... i cant take it! vito

sold the 66 dave??? wow, I was looking forward to seeing it this year.

I just picked up the GT-37 from a resto shop this past weekend. No more swiss cheese front lower window channel. Since the drivetrain is out and front clip is off the car, taking this opportunity to replace the inner fenders that were 1) damaged from an accident (driver side) 2) mangled up front, possibly from an accident also (pass side). Also replacing the incorrect dash pad with a correct one, along with a new gauge bezel, new dash wiring hardness and a radio delete plate. So we'll see what kind of wiring issues I have. No idea if I'll get some more gear in the car, so I won't even bring that up.

    Let's see.

Got a puppy, working on house breaking and basic training. He's coming along well.
Pulled the trans out of the yellow Cobra to have the popping out of third on deceleration problem fixed.
Should have that back on Friday.
Gotta pull the engine next to swap back to my repaired exhaust manifolds. I borrowed a set to make the race last September, because one of mine was cracked.
Then I discovered 2 new leaks from sitting over the winter.
    1. Gas tank, that should be easy. Replace the rubber gasket on the sending unit.
    2. Steering box, still investigating a solution for that one.
