I'm out of Bay Area, Ca Bought my first Buick few months ago.. I liked the car for over 13 years and Finally got one. I will try not to bug you with questions and will browse all the links before I do so. Have a good one
"czarli": Please put your name in your signature, we are all here on a friendly first name base :TU: You didn't mention what type of Buick you own, but after a little search I discovered that it's a model year 1968 Riviera with optional cornering lamps and a 455 engine. Did you change the wheels from Rallyes to wires, or the other way around ?
Thank you for the worm welcome I went from Rallies to wires back to rallies.. I have spokes stored until I paint the car black.
Okay, we have a car, how about a name? (Re: What's up forum) Hi Erik and ????? . . . . hey we need a name here!! What da' ya' mean a "worm welcome"!?!?! This is a car forum - not fishin'!! Okay, Erik has done the hard work of getting your car ferretted out of the wood work. However, Erik that's cheatin' you aren't supposed to prompt the audience!! So we have some pics of your car . . . . you still owe us some specs and . . . . a first name. We are on a first name basis around here! :Brow: Seriously welcome to V-8 Buick!! My trusty 65 Buick Special wagon says hi to your Rivera. She is a San Francisco Bay Area native and resident. Was your Rivera built in Fremont also? Welcome again! Cheers, Edouard :beer
I think Erik is an agent for Mossad, MI6, KGB, NCIS, CIA, DCRI, CSIS, and NIA. Or could be. Right Erik?:laugh:
I'm Charles, I have a hard time setting stuff up. As far as specs on the car : big & heavy.. As soon as I know I will post some info. I just loved the body thats why I got it but I have not studied about it. Let's see if my signature will show up.. ---------- Post added at 07:57 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:53 PM ---------- How would I find where the car was made would it have an F after the vin?
How do decode your Buick's VIN info. (Re: What's up forum) Hi Charles and V-8 Buick lovers, Not quite that simple, but it isn't too bad. Compare your VIN plate to information on the decoding information that you can find in various places like the Team Buick forum research section: http://www.teambuick.com/reference/years/68/68_vin.php You can figure out where you car was assembled from that info. Cheers, Edouard :beer
You gave away the whole plot!! (Re: What's up forum) Hi Charles, Erik, and V-8 Buick Riviera (shall we say) fanatics!! Awe Shucks Erik, there you go again - eliminating the whole plot before Charles had a chance to look as his VIN number and find out for himself!! Can't ya' let a feller see the movie for himself? What's the mattra' with ya', lusting after other fellers' cars or somethin' . . . . . Seriously Erik, I think it is time for you to . . . . . get one of your very own :3gears: once more!! :TU: Cheers, Edouard :beer P.S. I confess, I had no idea where Riverias where produced in 1968. Give me a break!! I've lived with my trusty wagon since 1968 and I still couldn't remember which key opened what!?!?! o No: Must be alzheimer's . . . . or is it - autolzheimer's :Brow:
Re: You gave away the whole plot!! (Re: What's up forum) Back in the 90's I had a 1968 Riviera, but I didn't really like it because it was too small (the size of a 1977-1990 B-body Caprice) < Click thumbnails :Comp:
Hi Charlie and V-8 Buick "matchmakers." Don't do that, just leave them in a quiet, romantic spot, maybe play some Valentine's day music . . . . . . . and before you know it - you'll have three of them!! Cheers, Edouard :beer
Welcome from the R side of the USA. Florida to be exact. I like my Riv also. The" ROA" Riviera Owners Association is a great group and place to learn about these cars. http://www.rivowners.org/
