Greetings from sweden. Just registered here.

Well, I can throw in a litte details about our whole Buick family.

My father has owned alot of Chevys through the years, been an engine builder and mechanic for over 30 years. The car that he loved the most was his 1971 Buick GS Stage 1, with alot of extra options, it was one out of 600 that was built with those options.

My mother has a 1965 Buick Riviera with the 4x4 425 Nailhead, all original, never restored or anything. Recently sent to update the paintjob, which is the original Burgundy Mist Poly.

I'm the son of the family, a mere 16 years old so far, but still an aspiring muscle head fan.

I've owned a rat rod, a 1949 Ford F1 pickup with a front and rearend including brakes from a 1996 BMW 325, airride suspension all around and a Fuel injected 302 V8 from a 1987 Ford Thunderbird. I sold that truck and recently bought myself a 1968 Chevrolet El Camino SS with a tuned 383 cui V8.

Sure, I love it, but I'm in the process of selling it to make some money for my new projekt. A 1972 Buick Skylark with the '71 455, going to bore and stroke it out to 510 cui and some other candy.

And in the future, I'm thinking maybe a Buick GN from 1987.

I'll post some pics on demand, anyway, nice meeting you all.

Thanks man, I'm glad to be here. Ever since my first ride in my dads old 1970 GS Stage 1, I've been sold.

Free Riviera Sounded like a good deal

    Welcome and enjoy!

This is the best place to be... most definitely if you are doing an engine build.

Boring is a bad idea because 455s are so thinly cast. Bore it only if this is needed to clean the cylinder and make them concentric and then only the minimum. Stroking is a waste of money. Spend the money on the new aluminum heads and have these professionally ported. This costs is less than a stroker kit and will yield more grunt where it counts.

True, but it's going to be aimed at street drivability. And 650hp in a 455.. well it get's sort of aggressive. There's no substitute for cubic inches really.

Andy- I live up north, in Skellefte. It's a 13 hour drive north from Arvika. :p

Chrille- Thanks, I'll do the best that I can with my car anyway. :)

    Thanks for the replies guys.

I'm new here. I have a 1968 California Gran Sport that I have been restoring for the past 2 years. I need a set of 1969 hood hinges to replace a 1968 driver side hinge that one of the pivot points snapped. Darn!! Anyone make replacement plastic side posts that go behind the front seat on the post sedans? When I can figure out how to post a picture of it ( it's a beautiful Red ) I'll do that. I'm in Northern California, north of Sacramento ( Yuba City ) and just retired after 34 years in the Air Force and 30 years in Federal Civil Service. Looking forward to spending more time on and in my car.

Helsningar från boderlandet i vest! Cool to meet some scandinavians here! I live in Porsgrunn, 90minutes drive south of Oslo. But my sister lives in Arvika, and I am there a lot. You got a cool family! Nice! Good luck with your car! See you around!
