Hi. I am getting ready to order some 17" wheels and tires for my '70 GSX and need your help in determining the best offsets for front and rear. The tires will be Nitto 450s, 255/50/17s on the front (27" diameter and 10.16" inflated width) and 275-50-17s (27.83" diameter and 11.06" inflated width) on the rear. The new wheels will be 8" wide, but I could run 7" on the front if that is necessary. Thanks in advance for any and all advice. The car has 3" exhaust, and the tailpipes come within an inch or so of my 275/60/15s on 8-inch wheels currently on the rear.

Thanks. It was helpful and I appreciate your input. I will call Newstalgia. I'm going with 50 series to keep tire diameters tall enough for no space to show between tires and the wheel openings. I'll ask Newstalgia how wide I can go on rear and still not get into clearance problems with the 3" tailpipes. I could modify them in NASCAR flat-oval style at the rub points but that'd mean repowdercoating. Anyone else who has input please weigh in. Thanks again.
