Where/Who makes the best Rochester Quad Jet to purchase? SMI, Jet and etc.

I am currently running a Holley Double Pump, but I am wanting to change it out for a Qjet 800 cfm. Who makes the best Qjet? I came across SMI Qjets and Jet Qjets but what is the difference and who is the best or better? I am new to having owning a buick. I sold my 1970 Pontiac GTO project and purchased a fully running 1970 Buick GS w/ a 455. Please help. Thanks. I searched the best I could for an answer but could not find what I was looking for.

I bought mine from Mark Northcutt (Carmantx on the forum) and I couldn't be happier. He has a website called Quadrajetpower.com

I've been extremely happy with the carbs that Everyday Performance has done for me - you can find them under the vendor section of the board, or just PM Techg8.

As mentioned, both the guys on this board will build you a Q-jet tailored to your combination. Forget Jet and SMI.

Thanks everybody for the kind words.

Sarge, best choices for you on the 800 cfm are to stick with one of us that build for the Buick community. I keep a bunch of Buick cores in stock and build most to order, based on engine specs and driving style desired. I can build a Buick 800 cfm for divorced choke like original, or convert a later style for electric choke. I build them to run and enjoy, and make them look good. Quadrajetpower.com is my site or Facebook as mentioned above. I ship all over the world. Ken at everyday also does a great job and if you want plated parts, he is the one to go to, as I don't offer those services at this point.

Let me know if you have any questions. And enjoy that Buick power!

Mike is building a QJet for me from a 67 core right now for my 67 GS 400. The 67 GS 400 happens to have a lot of one off one year only quirks including the carb. I am looking forward to getting mine from him in a couple of weeks so we have a proper carb set up right to feed the 400.
