I was looking at Jim Lore's GSX,and I what I have to say is: "THAT'S IT!!:TU: But then I was reading about the 1972 GSX Paint colors thread, and I was a bit confusedo No: I saw Saturn Yellow(1970) and I looked further and I saw Sunburst Yellow(1972).My '72 GS 350 car IS YELLOW,it kinda bright like "school bus yellow",but what I'd like to know and i read further, that Sunburst Yellow is a brighter yellow than Saturn Yellow...does anyone out there have a Sunburst Yellow GSX,or what is the paint codes for each;Saturn Yellow, and Sunburst Yellow so I could see the difference:kodak: .I'd still like to have my car painted Saturn Yellow. Thanks,Jay B.Britt,Jr.
My 72 convert used to be Sunburst Yellow and I changed it to Saturn Yellow, but I did not supply the code. The PPG code for Sunburst Yellow, according to autocolorlibrary.com should be 2444. By the way, I'm glad I changed the color-it looks great!
Thanks,sratt17,now I see that my car is not the color you shown in your picture...ray: I'll repaint mine,Saturn Yellow.Jay B.Britt,Jr.
AFTER TONS OF SEARCHING AND 3 PAINT SHOPS NOT BEING ABLE TO GET A MIX # FOR SATURN YELLOW I WENT WITH DODGE PROWLER YELLOW. I THINK IT LOOKS AS CLOSE TO SATURN AS ANY PIC I HAVE EVER SEEN . IVE NEVER SEEN A REAL GSX IN PERSON AND DEF NONE WITH ORIGINAL FACTORY PAINT. WHEN PAINTING IF AIR PRESSURE OR MIX IS OFF YOU GET A ANOTHER SHADE FROM THE SAME CAN!!! I DID MY HOOD OFF THE CAR FROM THE SAME GALLON OF PAINT AND IT DIDNT MATCH!!!! SO I BOLTED IT ON AND DID A REPAINT ON THE WHOLE CAR IN ONE SHOT THE NEXT DAY
