The new carpet is in and now the rest of the interior can go back in place.
Although labeled, I messed up the seat belts (while coming out of the dish washer  )... can't find the photos I made while disassembling... and there's nothing in the Chassis Service, nor in the Fisher manual

Where does which seat belt belong?

    1) All longer ones (male+female) in front? Or is there a mix?
    2) Is the middle (front and rear) passenger male or the female belt meant to be attached on the driver's side?

This is what I have now: driver's/passenger's shoulder belts and retractors are not shown here:

I just have to ask....just out of the dishwasher? does that really clean them?

Even the ones that were hidden under the rear seat for years and gathered lots of mold, tar, rust etc..they'te black again....even the labels cleaned up perfect.
Free tip: make sure you're home alone....you probably don't want your wife to know about it...;-)

I don't really know for sure, I'm guessing the 6 shorter belts on the LT are for the rear seat. I'm thinking this because the rear seat is stationary, it never moves. It seems like the longer belts would go in the front, the short male belt on the RT in the middle front. Just a guess backed by logic.

It would appear that there are couple of 'extras' in the group Rob, there are 3 front buckles, and 3 rears buckles for a total of 6. Your photo has 8 buckles do you have optional rear mounted over-the-shoulder belts ? :Do No:

3 on the LH are rear seat belts. Male/female each passenger.
3 of the longer females on the RH are for lap belts. The retractors account for the male piece. The longer male belt is for the middle passenger.
The other two long female belts are for the front outside passenger shoulder belts. Male belt is mounted at the roof line.
Middle front male belt on the LH side.
Rear seat order beginning RH side: Male, male + female, male + female, female.

Randy, that's the amount I took out of the car (bench seat); have belts for a total of 6 persons (driver (and also passenger) needs 2 male (=shoulder and lap retractor) with 2 females; so I have a total of 8 sets. What you're missing in that photo are the shoulder and retractor lap (male) belts

Thanks Steve. From memory I thought 2 shorter females were for the 2 male belt at the roof line, but got my doubts when I had one short female left over.... thought it might have been for the middle rear passenger :Do No:

But your answer is clear: tomorrow the seats will get in and the belts as you described. Thanks!

    Made a mistake on the belts.Sorry, eh.:bglasses:
Next time you get to Canada I'll buy @ Tims!!

Beginning RH side is male/female+female/female+male/ male.

This is what I saw when I checked my '71. The belt retainers agree to this layout.
Earlier post was based on tiny drawings in the Fisher Body manual.

    Cheers,

No problem, Steve... had a minor set back here anyhow... one rear power window doesn't work from the master switch.. guess I have to put new wiring in before the rear seat gets back in.
October I will be in AB again for work (and lots of Tim's 'Flavoured Latte' )... and next year probably in Ottawa...and even that last one isn't really nearby from where you are for a few cups... what a country
