Okay. I currently have a 1970 lesabre. Its Gold with a black top. The gold looks worn and i want a new paint job. My parents said they would get me a piant job for my d-ay (maybe) which is awesome. But im debating on 2 different ways I want it painted.

I either want it painted red with white stripes down the sides that start big at the front of the tire and get smaller at the end...

Or i want it to be gold with 2 black racing stripes down the middle...

Do tell me your opinion because i need to decide soon if I wanna get the paint job!

Okay so I think I'm just gonna keep it gold. No stripes. Thanks to everyone who helped

I'd say skip the paint job altogether. If you parents will give you whatever money you think it will cost, invest it into Motorola in the $21 space. In a couple years you will be glad you did. There are other stocks too, but I'm pretty sure this one will go up 20% in a couple years. A paint job like you're describing on a car you're describing won't do that.

I would refinish it in the original color without any stripes.looks like a nice old car anything other than a stock repaint will just devalue the car.

I have to agree, stock color, no stripes. You might also like the idea of deleting the black side molding...here an idea of the looks: http://216.194.90.151/pics/76/bu807670c.jpg

Just my opinion, but I think the LeSabre body lines are such a nice feature they don't need to be accentuated, especially with such a high-contrast color.

Ah, a stock touter. MOT is a good short candidate right now. F is the one that will give you a double in two years. Got a bunch at $6.20.
    All in good fun.

Racing stripes on a '70 Lesabre. It ain't no Cobra. Would look way out of place. Gold with a black top would look good. One mans opinion.

I voted gold. To me, the red and white is a bit to cliche. A nice gold, or maybe bronze.

I would vote to stay with the stock colour combo. I saw the pictures of your car in the "Wet Behind the Ears" forum, and I would say if you kept the stock colour, and put some Buick rallye wheels on it, it would look superb! Check out Smartin's car... a '71, so the styling is a bit different, but no less cool! :TU:

Keep it original - no stripes needed. Chrome ralley wheels will improve the appearance (as per above).
Gotta remember it's a full size Buick with lotsa class ! :beer :TU:

check salvage yards, and if you find a set, GRAB THEM! demo derby drivers snatch these wheels up and they're used on trailers some too
