i wouldnt call my car plain jane . yet heres my '66 painted arctic white in dupont centari single stage enamel with hardner where i painted it about 7 years ago in my garage with a cheap gun . it looks good ,but i'd like to have it repsrayed sometime before i put the rest of the chrome back on
its not really shiny , but in the light it has a cool glow like a pearl. there s a few heavy coats , and ive only wet sanded it a couple times . i should just wetsand some more and buff it out . ive never touched it with any polishing compounds or wax . but over the last few years of smal scrathes and where i gave up on the pass quarter , id like to repaint sometime . but its was alot better then primer .it was alot cheaper then a body shop . i totaly disasembled the car in the early 90's and have stripped and repainted everywhere with the single stage enamel . overall i was happy with it . i wanted the car to have a plain , original look . and arctic white was the original color . these pics were taken this summer in the early evening
Plain Jane White Cars I'm in the middle of a frame off as well . Mine is the Mid Blue like yors Bruce . My 73' Road Runner was great , wish I had digital pics of it . I totally agree . Your car looks beautiful . :TU: I'm looking at either Baby Moons or the new Summit Racings "Stars" and a drop of 2" all around . I don't want it to come out common . We all need to stand out from the superfluous amounts of Chevies / Ferds . You see so many at car shows that they just become a variation on a theme . After awhile you hardly aknowledge them as being there . I like Buicks , Mopar and AMC/Rambler . Javrlins , Rambler Americans (mid 60's) wagon / coupes . I'd love to get my hands on a Dart/Demon and load it up with a 5.9L FI . New Hemi would be nice but not a reality for me . Steve
White Cras Whites a great color IMHO ! my 73' Satellite with the correct 73' RR reflective black stripe kit was beautiful . Sold it it's first night out at the 2000 Hot Augusts Nights in Reno . STUPID!!!!!!!! ou: I drove it from the A/C shop to the Atlantis "Show" on Virginia Street and it sold in an hour or two. It really stood out in the crowd there ! Turned around and bought a 66' Coronet 440 Convertible that next day . It looked like it should have been in a Bone Yard ! When it was done it had white interior, black top and the body color was the original Desert Rose Poly (a metallic grey/pink (Dusky Rose) . the 318 wide block was a great runner on 5 cylinders so it got a bone stock 66 or 68 (?) 383-4 w/ 21/2" duals . Not white but beautiful ! Didn't have it long enough to get pics of it with all the trim back on . :af: :ball: Steve
