I just ordered my correct seat fabrics from SMS to recover my front and rear bench seats for my 1964 Buick Special Deluxe with silver interior. For 1964 Special Deluxe, they had the ribbed fabric and leather -patterned vinyl combined according to the picture. There is a better shot of it on the old car manual project which I'll post later. I'd like to find someone who I can send my materials to and have them make the covers. I was going to try my hand at actually rebuilding my seats and re-foaming and covering the seats myself. Learn a new skill. However since you can't order these covers from a catalog like a Camaro, I'm looking for someone to make mine. Anybody out there on v8 Buick do this?
Here's more detail on how they are supposed to look, straight from the 1964 brochure: http://www.oldcarbrochures.org/NA/B...-Brochure/1964-Buick-Full-Line-Prestige-52-53
It would be best for the shop to have the seat or the car with the original covers. Many upholstery shops could do it here. Ask around in your area.
That's part of my challenge. I got my car as a project sans interior. In the mean time I got a parts car interior (Special ) to get me functional, but that set of seats is Special, different from special deluxe. I may need to find original 64 Special Deluxe seats to have as a template for an upholsterer. Search continues...
