this morning i get up at 5:30 am and get ready to work. walk out about a half hour later. i decide to take the new lark to work today and since the drivers side door currently doesnt open (ill post some pics) i walk up to the passenger side.

i go to put my key in and notice the door is unlocked... i open the door and notice all the stuff that was in the glove box is on the floor  i look up and see the glove box is open... :Dou: i scoot over to the drivers seat and notice MY RADIO IS GONE!!!!!! who in the world would steel a $50 radio! it wasnt anything special by any means but really, who steels a cheap radio/cd player. what can it possibly go for on the street! $25 dollars tops? :Do No: what really sucks is i got the car this past weekend and already this crap happens.

at the apartments i live at, we're only allowed two parking permits. my girlfriend has one and my roomate has another. so i got screwed and both of my larks are on the street. i dont even have a house key yet! how much does that suck!:Dou: :spank:

Man....that Sux. I remember reading an article of a guy who got fustrated after having his radio stolen several times in short order. The last time, he glued razor blades and such under there to fix the crooks.......and was brought up on charges when the next thief severly wounded himself and sued :Dou:

Ahhh the USA......land of the free and the home of litigation

    Sorry for your loss

Wonder what would have happened if you had an 8 track hanging under the dash?:Brow: Wasn't Gray Davis giving out free driver licenses in exchange for car radios? Oh, only to illegals!!!

    Did they damage your dashboard?

This was the last straw for apartment living for me! It was one of several in the lot to get this treatment. :af:

    71GS455 Best Package Wins!

When I moved into a condo a year ago, I was in the same situation... nowhere to park my GS455. So I rented storage at a really nice place. I put the car there late on a Sunday evening and car covered, then plastic tarped it up. The next day I get a phone call... someone had broken into the place (the first time ever) and my car was "involved."

I went out there to check out my car. The tarp and car cover were on the ground, and the glove box was open. Luckily all the glass was in place (my major fear). As it turns out I forgot to lock it up. As a result they got in, looked around, found nothing, and luckily didn't punish me by tearing it up inside. They did leave some pieces of broken glass on the inside that must have came from the cars that were "securely" locked for storage. And there was a broken crack pipe sitting on the seat too.

From that point on, I left it unlocked under the covers.

did he actually win? seems to me that you should be able to do whatever you want on YOUR property...he was breaking in and shouldn't have been there.

i've heard of that method being used a lot, lately, though. razors, fishhooks...one guy said he used adhesive and ground up glass on the bottom of his head unit....OW.

I have also heard of using the same methods. My friend had his Bronco broken into twice (crooks seem to love those small vent windows) and the cop actually suggested that he use razor blades or fish hooks next time. :Do No:

Of course, the cops don't make or even uphold the law. The lawyers do.
