I copied this from yenko.net Rt 66 Raceway is rolling out the red carpet for us on the 29th, with special parking for racers, special parking for musclecars not racing, no fee for spectators or to just show your muscelcar and concession stand will be open most of the day. RT 66 has gone out of their way to provide us with this opportunity to have the reunion at their facility, so I encourage everyone to attend, and bring a friend or two. ANYONE who has a musclecar is welcome to attend, and of course, encouraged to race. Lets make this an event to remember. Several sponsors are helping, NickeyChicago and MCACN will be hosting the Thursday and Friday evening meet and greets, MK Insurance will have cold drinks on hand both at the parking lot and a the track on Friday. As always, the event will be covered by journalists/photographers for various publications. Here is the updated list. If you are planning on attending, please let us know. I talked to brother Tim today and he brought up a good point...for those wondering, this event is *not* just a Bow-Tie hand-holding affair...Buicks, Fords, Mopars, AMCs (heck even Studes! lol) and everything else are welcome! If you're a Pure Stock or FAST racer, that's good enough for me...! And it's officially "official", lol-->SCR14 page on Rt. 66 site: click me!
Rob, just to clarify, is Friday for the Supercar Renunion racers only, or will others be there for test and tune ?
OK, I'm a definite should be there, better gotta go, but need to bring the kids or get a sitter, pure stock racer. Heck, I'm only 45 minutes east of this state of the art track. Plus I took the day off just in case. Pencil in a 1969 H/O with ice cold air...brrrr. Hmmm, I'm on the way there for folks from Michigan and east. Maybe there's a Thursday pre-party in the works for late arrivals. The pool is 88 degrees, and the beer is 34 degrees. Keg of the month is Rolling Rock. Plus I think I owe some folks overnight accommodations too. I'll think on this if there is interest. I know the host hotel is doing a party too, not sure what that will invlove, so I'm just throwing this out there for thought. It's the first time there's a pure stock type race event in my backyard, hate to waste the opportunity to offer my place in needed! Paul
Cool!:TU: Due to the way this played out the first year, there will be "other" cars there for the T'n'T. The track wanted a minimum "x" amount of cars, and we weren't sure that with the switch and short notice we could get that many, so the majority is supposed to be Supercar Reunion participants with the rest being some invites from the track itself...last I talked to them they had intentions of keeping their invites as close to the theme of the event as possible, because they'd like to see it grow as a niche nostalgia event. This first year is unfortunately a bit of a "let's get through it as best as we can and then regroup" type deal...so hopefully it will be something we can grow from.
He's playing 4H farmer ,and racing all week at the fair ,not sure when he's comin. Think he will be lucky just to keep his eyes open.o No: Rob , put me down as 100% there thursday ...:beers2: :3gears:
when did you fine Buick folks get so thin skinned ?? o No: didn't you guys used to be the Hemi killers ?? :3gears:
that may work to my advantage as I couldn't cut a light vs him and then couldn't run him down either. Will be fun either way, since I now don't have a partially clogged fuel filter. ou: thurs night is out for me however
Tail lights, he don't need new tail lights! You can't show mercy and give your opponent something shinny to look at... Haha. But if you are I have a fresh cutout bumper. That would blind them.:bla:
Thin skinned ? All good here. I could call the Miller household and ask Danielle to stop picking on you. Believe Kent was just saying good luck. I have no beef with you. Think its kinda funny you called Clary about it. Next time just give me a call / send a PM Later Jeremy
