  2. In and effort to reduce the spam on the site, several years ago I had went to a program where I manually approve each and every new registration. This approval gives you full access to the site, to pictures, and to post, among other things.   3. The "Group Buy" for the 1967-68 Deluxe Steering wheel recasting is now officially "Open". Now is the time to start sending in the wheels. The latest date that the wheels must be received by Kochs is 31 March 2025 The cost for each wheel is $750. The only "up front cost" is your shipping the wheel. If you send in more than one wheel, each additional wheel will cost $700. Shipping and insurance to Kochs and return shipping will be extra. Will 430 heads fit a 455?

    A guy I know has some 430 heads that he says are from a 64.Will they fit a 76 455?If so would it be a good head to use?

    yes they fit and are just as good as any other stock head, if you have oil passage in block to feed oil to old style shafts you need to block it off, its no big deal my riv has 430 heads, im a little fuzzy on oil passage 76 block may not have, its been 15 years since i did this, but still runs today.

    430 heads were '67-'69, I've had 'em for years them with good results. As has already been said, block off the oil feeds to the rocker pedestals & use the 455-type valvetrain that oils through the pushrods. It is possible to oil through the head on a 455, but it's a bit of a pain.

    Would be a good idea to have them cleaned & thoroughly checked for cracks, as the 400-430 castings have issues in the spring pocket areas. If you can, let us know what the casting numbers are.

    yeah, prior to 67 these heads would either be off of a Nailhead or 300 small block.
