will 68-72 Chevelle console shifter mechanism fit Skylark console?

    70sgeek drive it like a rental.

    I'm interested in the Thomson DT3 detent plate but it only fits the Chevelle shifter mechanism due to different mounting hole locations.

    Is anyone using a Chevelle horseshoe shifter mechanism assembly in their GS console or know if it is a direct fit - if the mechanism is otherwise a direct fit, can I also still use the Buick shifter cable?
