Will A '66,'67 Riviera Posi Fit My '67 Skylark?

Discussion in 'Buick FAQ' started by bigmikebuick67, Sep 22, 2007.

  1. The Posi Is A 12bolt Series 3 Unit (not Drop In Style).

I Have A 8.2 Unit In My Car And Do'nt Know Which Gears.

Can I Use This Set Up In My Skylark Or Will It Take Too Much

To Make It Work? I Am Supposed To Buy This Thing Tomorrow But,

I Do'nt Want To Buy Something I Ca'nt Use, Nor Do Want To Lose

The Opportunity To Buy It. Need Help Asap MIKE

PLEASE CALL ME 314-740-6738 OR LEAVE ME A POST PLEASE.

You could make it fit, but I would advise against it. Parts are hard to come by, it would have to be narrowed because it is too wide, it uses a single upper control arm and a panhard bar instead of dual upper control arms, and if it is a posi, it is worth more to a Riviera restorer than a 8.5" posi rear that will bolt into your car. Go ahead and buy it if the price is right (less than $200), sell it for a profit, and use the money for an "A" body 8.5" posi rearend. Later, Randy
