Will a 68 am/fm from a Special look original in my 69?

Wondering if a am/fm from a 68 Special (7302514) would look, work and fit the same as an am/fm that would have come from the factory in my 69 GS 400 Convert? I just have am now and would like to upgrade.

    Thanks, Chris

Chris, as I remember one difference is the am fm dial bar. In a 68 am fm it is white or light in color, and in a 69 it is black or dark color. That is the only difference I know of. It will fit. Bill Sangster

  3. I think that is the only real diff, the background color. If you just can't bring yourself to put that 68 radio in your 69, I might be interested in taking it off your hands.:Brow:

I didn't end up "winning" it on ebay. It sold for $69. Is that a good deal? It was supposedly in working order, with all parts except for the knobs. have no idea what these are worth, I bid $50. What are they worth?

  5. Don't know how I missed that one... It is a 68 with the white background. Probably worth a little more than the final bid, if it really works. Hard to tell the condition with the fuzzy pics.

I looked at a fully reconditioned one from originalcarradios.com and they want around $300 for a 68 version, less for a 69.

You and I both, Chris... I only went to $25 on that one. Nice try!

Oh well! I usually only drive the convertible during baseball season anyway, and AM is good for that! Plus, I can hear the car a lot better without any music distracting me.
