I expect to be at Martin and would be only too happy to hand you your a$$ on a platter Dave. I would consider it an honor.

If you look at the power to weight ratios, the '66 L79 had just about the most of any car on the track. When I'm running 12.9's I'm only using about 305 H/P. It was politically incorrect for a 327 to beat a Hemi which happened at the '66 US Nationals, so as Chevy 454 points out, they did indeed factor them out of competition.

Hope to see everyone at Martin.:TU:

Actually, I always thought it would be neat to let people run otherwise "illegal" cars on T n T day during lull periods in the track....or after the shootouts... A little informal grudge race...say between a coupla replicas of old time race cars like:

I think it would be cool too, but a replica of a car that got canned for cheating would be funny:3gears: :pp

    It wouldn't be that difficult anymore. I actually started it today, first time in 6 months and that was the first time in a year...

Mufflers are total junk and almost new...

Is there any way to record this for reference later? I think my brother in law (Dave "Chevylover" Dudek) just admitted a small block Chevy car is faster than a Hemi!:moonu:

Dave, you know how fond I am of you and knew you'd take that remake in the spirit it was given. Don't sell yourself short, you've got tons of experience behind you and that counts for a lot! Just ask Ted Harbit. Looking forward to seeing you there. :TU:

BTW there's a very good chance that the silver '64 Impala will be there also with son Cameron at the wheel. Shades of Beaver Springs, eh?

To avoid future "establish a baseline" entries is it going to run time trials only and no shootout?
Lot's of folks have been turned away with headers and an aftermarket intake, why should this car be any different?

Guess I'm off the Christmas card list now.

I was assuming it would be Time Trials also Brian.. Just for fun and to set a baseline. Would not be the first time that was allowed i rememebr a Burgandy 65-66 Fury showing up not eligable but running.. Infact Tim or Casey borrowed his battery terminal end because theres fried .. Was a few years ago at least..

On Saturday their will be Testers and Tuners sharing the lanes with us... one more slow car with headers should net matter much :)

One more difference Brian is that this is a F.A.S.T. event and not PSMCDR. It's apparently a last minute deal that was put together to give us one more shot at the track. Doubt that it will be as heavily attended as the June Martin or Stanton events so Friday should provide plenty of time for everyone. On Saturday he can run it with all the other public T&T crowd. If this were the June event or Stanton I would feel differently, but not so for this event. Isn't Bruno first among equals anyway?:Do No:

    Wow..Golly I didn't know....

When Pete Simpson was made tech guy at the June Martin F.A.S.T. race, he applied PSMCDR rules as written for F/S.

As written they prohibit headers and aftermarket intakes.

The initial post did not say or imply test only, so I wanted to clarify.

My apologies to the F.A.S.T. organisers for taking their attempt to provide a venue seriously.

Seeing as how more cars are needed, as pointed out by friendsofyenko.org, I have lots of header, intake etc friends who would like to join the party.

No, they won't be invited, it is fun seeing the bowties rally though.

    True,

But it should never matter who asks.

It should only matter what is asked.

Sure would like to have raced one more time(for a total of twice),but another 7 hour haul is not in the cards. Maybe i should work on another Ohio event.I realize Michigan is the sweet spot for participants, but Mid Michigan, and Martin are alot further for the east coast people.

There is always Norwalk !!!!!:Brow: :Brow: only 2 1/2 hours away, and hooks crazy good-
Went to The track by Pete and Bruno in Canada this year -Cuyuga - wow did that one hook!
Was going to go to Mr. Cook land this fall . Make the long haul, But when they announced the late Martin race , it was a no brainer to go to that one. I'll make it to east coast next year. If for no other reason Scotty's prime rib!

I'd like to see a race again at Norwalk too. Beautiful track.... only drawback is that Cedar Point drives up the motel prices and sucks up so many rooms. I go there couple of times a year, but usually in the off season.

You're absolutely right, Brian. Its our responsibilty as participants to ensure that all entries comply with the rules set forth by the event organizers. The media coverage that these events continue to draw should be incentive enough to maintain strict compliance by all involved.

I'm withdrawing the "the deuce" from this weekends event and apologize for any unnecessary debate between participants, tech stewards and organizers.

Personally, I would like to see the car. I don't think the car count will be that high, how about just running it on Friday for test and tune and not the matchups on Saturday ?
