I recently puchased a rebuilt short block and it does not have mounting for a windage tray which my original 350 did. besides the fact that I cannot install it, how much would it hurt the engine? considering that it wasn't built for it. thanks
The correct windage tray is a good thing to have. I have taken apart a number of 350's and have always seen a small tray at the rear of the block. Use one if you can, but it's not a huge deal either way, unless you're doing some serious racing.
