I have never seen this addressed so I thought I'd bring it up. What is the correct clocking for the window cranks? I usually install them straight down with the windows down, but I'm wondering if there is a "correct" position that they are supposed to be in.

don't know if there is a "correct' position, but around here we used to have mainly gravel roads.so when we installed the handle it would go in the 10 or 2 o'clock position with window up depending on direction the handle turned to lower the window.you would want it to try to close the window as it is bouncing down the gravel roads at speed.

Neither have I thus my question. I would like to think they weren't just slapping these things in as the cars went down the line but you never know!

Back when what I could afford had (often loose) manual windows, I too, would clock them (9 or 3) to keep pressure on regulators with window up...seemed to work...but no "correct" position...

I agree GM probally just put them . I am prefer my frronts at 2 oclock on the drivers side . Passenger front at 10 0 clock . Same for the rears on a 4 door .

On 2 door cars the rears at 3 oclock on the drivers rear , and 9 oclock on the passenger side .

Doing this with a little preasure upward and putting the handles on and when the cranks relax downward you will have the position you like .

Call me picky but the handles are one of the first things I do when I get a car .
