Window Felt/Sweep Kit - Wiil it work?

The inner sweep on the passenger rear side window (attached to the side panel), on my '72 GS, has failed. On the ss396 web site, they sell the 1970-1972 Chevelle Coupe Complete Window Felt Kit, 8 Piece, I guess I would have to purchase the whole kit. Anyone used this kit or is familiar with it. I would assume that this Chevelle kit is compatible with our '70-72? Comments?

Gerry, Yes I have it on my car. The best kit available for our cars in my opinion. I got mine from them. The rears may need a little tweaking But I guess this is the case on a Chevelle as well.

I used a NON-concourse set from NPD for a Chevelle on my 72 Skylark; only place that needed tweeking was the slight bit of curvature on the back bottom. All of the screw holes except one (in the corner) were even correctly aligned!

They will work, all A bodies. But they are not correct, they have flat chrome strips instead of factory rolled, I don't think anybody makes correct OEM type pieces, if there are some out there someone please tell, I only want correct type on my car.

YOU GUYS NEED TO READ MY FIRST POST..............And yes the ones I got from www.ss396.com. are correct. They do have the correct bead. I did not win GSCA concourse gold and Hemmings Musclepalooza best in show with the wrong stuff. And not all A bodies are the same. Olds hardtops have a completely different rear window shape. Buick and chevelle are pretty much the same.

These might be by the same company as what Dave has. These are very nice and as correct as I have seen.

Redman, Judging by the box those are Re-pops brand. I have tried those as well. Probably from Cars like Jerry listed but not sure. The TWE brand from ss396 were far less work to install. I got this recommendation from Nick at Ivyland. He did Ken Lisk's Lime 71 GSX. He uses them all the time. I had to elongate one or two of the holes in the outers but I had to do this when I used NOS as well.

Also if Gerry is just using the insides then brand is less of an issue. The outers are where the difference is. Good luck to you Gerry if you are going to use the staples to try and put these on. I have done it after an interior guy gave up on them. They are a nightmare. This is why most guys give up and use rivets.

    Dave,
I looked on GU's site and I could only find the CH197A. You probably have to call to get the TWE brand.
    Thanks for the tip.

Nelson, Yes, call them and ask for it in person. I spoke with their guy at Carlisle and told them it was for a Buick and even he said the TWE brand works best.
