What's the deal with the window frames? I bought a pair of doors from a local fellow. He told me that the window frames just bolt on... I just took his word for it, but I am down to swapping the window hardware between the doors, and it looks like the frames and tracks are tack welded to the doors. Is this the case, or am I missing something here? I know these doors came from a hard top, not a convertible, the thing was sitting in his front yard. So, what's the deal? o No: Much thanks!
If the windows/glass have frames around them.....it is a 2 dr sedan and not a hardtop. You can NOT install 2dr sedan doors in a hardtop car.
Sorry for the confusion, I have a 2 door 72 skylark with b-pillars directly behind the doors. Title says it is a sedan... the dude I got the doors from had (I believe) a 71 skylark that looked exactly like mine sitting in his yard, even the color was the same... These doors actually mounted up on the car ok, and if I mock up the huge ass windows into the doors (they have no vent window in the front- all glass), it actually looks like they would fit as frameless windows just fine, but I have no tracks or anything on the doors that I received. ou: (He gave me the windows in boxes, so I didn't really notice the difference until I started the swap...) Maybe someone knows of an electric window kit that might come with what I would need to get these huge ass windows to go up and down?
