I was looking at year one's web site and they offer two different rubber washer hoses' for the 70-72 Skylarks. The first one which I think is the right one is product # 8906N12 and is 1/8 i.d. and is not ribbed, The other is product # 9848N and is 5/32 i.d. and is ribbed. Which one would I need to buy for my 72?
I take it that originality is such an issue that having NAPA cut you 5 feet tube based on the old tube specimen is not an option. If an exact match is the look you are after have you considered going to a junk yard with GM cars of the that vintage and pulling some? You will find I think that no one makes many of the old gates yellow stripe hoses. On a 72 I do not know whether the windshield wiper squirter hoses were ribbed but I am sure someone here with a 72 does know.
Not quite sure what hose you are looking for, but one hint. The larger hose from the water resivor to the wiper pump, ON ALL BUICKS will have a yellow stripe, and be ribbed, some other GM Cars had a white stripe. JIm Schilf palbuick
I am not talking about the hose that goes from the washer jug to the pump, but rather the washer hose that that leads up to the windshield squirters on the bottom side of the hood.
Andrew, All the original squirter hoses that I have seen are ribbed, but I don't remember what size they were. Duane
Just buy a couple of the smallest sizes of a foot a piece and see what fits. There are not that many real small sizes anyway............. And a side note. I believe Buick Frank DOES sell the yellow striped hose from jar to pump that everyone else was talking about.
