Hi, I'm thinking of putting LED boards into tail lights on my 72 Skylark. Just wondering the best way to get a constant power wire to tail lights. I was thinking of tapping into trunk light but not sure if there is a way to get a wire into the trunk without drilling a hole. Any help would be appreciated! The LED boards are digitails btw.

I thought the power to the lights was already battery direct.

Did this on my skylark - essentially ran a wire from the fuse box area along the edge of the carpet, under the back seat, and along the perimeter/top of the trunk following the factory path to the tails.

You end up having to pull half the interior out to do this properly unfortunately.

Thanks for the info! Yes Larry, bulb replacement would be easiest. I purchased the DigiTails years ago and then decided to try bulbs with no luck. I could never get a bulb that was bright enough during the day. I finally have some time now and am swapping out the bumper for a newly chromed one so I am rethinking my LED boards. I like the sequential turn signals! Unfortunately I have little experience with the electrical/wiring part and don't want to screw things up. I also don't want to drill through my trunk pan.
John, does this mean the power is supplied through the harness and not a separate wire? There are only 5 wires from each housing that lead to the plug. So should one of those wires be a constant power? Wouldn't it have to be? Sorry for my lack electrical savvy! I may be way off base.
    Thanks!

The lights in the rear are battery powered but only powered when the light switch is turned on or the brake light depressed, or the reverse light powered when in reverse. The trunk light wire is hot all the time.
