Would you buy an FItech "used" but never actually used?

Reason I ask is that a guy local to me has an FItech for sale that is the exact model I want. He's selling it for $850. Retail is $995. I'm already close to ordering one anyways. My only worry is the warranty. The story is that his wife bought it for him but he has decided to go another route. It is still in the plastic and box. What about warranty or tech support? Thoughts...

For the $145, you're better off buying one from Summit and not only having the FITech support but backed by Summit. IMO just incase something did go wrong. If it was at least $300 less then it might be worth the gamble. Dealers choice though.GL

Yeah, my thoughts too Derek. Maybe I'll offer $700.

I have to agree with this as well. I've never dealt with fitech directly, but I have with summit and their customer service is awesome. I'd eat the $150 to have them in my side. As others stated, $300 off might be worth the chance, but otherwise I'd pay for the extra layer of protection against st issues, especially with a product that's newer to the market.
